KIA CEE'D SW ESTATE SEPTEMBER 2007-
Kia have introduced a versitile Estate variant of their new Cee'd model badged as SW in the UK and 'Sporty Wagon' in other European markets. Our supplier has informed us that the existing towbars for the Hatchback model are suitable (KA7178 - Fixed Flange & KA9383 - Fully Automatic Detachable).

MERCEDES BENZ GL 2006-
Contrary to information in our current price list, it is a requirment to make a cut to the bumper skin and stainless steel skid plate when fitting towbars MR8071 (Swan Neck) and MR9374 (Fully Automatic Vertical Detachable). This cut is up to 450mm wide x 110mm deep dependent on type of towbar being installed. Because of the stainless steel skid plate, it is recommended that a small mechanical circular saw is used to cut.

MITSUBISHI COLT 5 DOOR HATCHBACK 2004-
Contrary to information in our current price list, the bumper cut for MT8043 (Swan Neck) and MT9245 (Semi-Automatic Detachable) is slightly visible (Shown in Price List as Not-Visible). This has been ammended on our database.

SEAT LEON CUPRA-R 2003-2005
Contrary to information in our current price list, ST8032 (Swan Neck) and ST9143 (Semi-Automatic Detachable) are not suitable for fiment to models with the Cupra-R bumper. They are subtly more bulbous on the lower edge and this causes insufficient clearance between the bumper and the coupling. Other bumpers are not affected (Topsport and standard FR).

VAUXHALL CORSA VAN APRIL 2007-
Vauxhall's new Corsavan is based on the body of their latest Corsa 3 Door Hatchback. It can be confirmed that GM7175 (Flange) and GM9370 (Semi-Automatic Detachable) are suitable.

VOLKSWAGEN CROSS-GOLF AUGUST 2007-
Volkswagen have introduced a 'Faux' off-roader version of their Golf Plus, with chunky body styling and a slightly raised ride height. It can be confirmed that VW4228A is suitable for fitment, although it will be required to cut the bumper to suit.

BMW 1 SERIES (E87) FACELIFT MAY 2007-
BMW have mildly updated their 1 Series model, with detail changes to both the front and rear of the vehicle. It can be confirmed that the existing towbars are suitable for this model, although the method by which the bumper is removed has changed.

PEUGEOT 207 CC (COUPE CABRIOLET) APRIL 2007-
Peugeot replaced their popular 206CC earlier this year with the 207CC. Although based on the same platform as the 207 Hatchback, additional components mounted underneath the vehicle prevent installation of PG4316.

BMW have recently added new engine options to their 3 Series range. These take the form of 335i (Petrol) & 335d (Diesel). The vehicles have a twin exhaust system with 1 exhaust pipe exiting from each side of the vehicle (As opposed to one twin pipe system exiting from one side of the vehicle). Although the towbar will physically fit the vehicle body, it is not possible to refit the bumper impact beam incorporating the exhaust and bumper supports. We are therefore specifying that the above towbars are not suitable for these applications.
Other vehicles in the range are not affected by this issue.

PCT AUTOMOTIVE 'PRESTIGE' DETACHABLE TOWBARS
We are delighted to announce the launch of the PCT Automotive ‘Prestige’, a fully automatic, detachable towbar. As detailed below, this initial range of towbars are available ex-stock now and cover many popular and prestige vehicle applications. Towbars for additional vehicle applications are in development and will become available over the coming months. All ‘Prestige’ vertical detachable towbar systems have been developed to maintain vehicle aesthetics and benefit by having all components located behind the rear bumper skin. All vertical systems are supplied with a retractable electrical mounting bracket allowing the 12N or 13-Pin electrical socket to be hidden behind the bumper when not in use. A retractable electrical mounting bracket for 12S Socket additions is available should it be desired to retract both electrical sockets. This is available as part reference ZM1414.

Horizontal detachable towbar systems are used for vehicle applications where there is insufficient space behind the bumper skin for the vertical system. Although the housing and electrical socket(s) are visible, they are kept as discrete as possible.

All ‘Prestige’ detachable systems are supplied complete with a durable storage bag, weather plug and printed operation manual.

The PCT Automotive ‘Prestige’ range of towbars begin with digit 6 (i.e. BM6001) and are subject to your normal PCT Automotive line 1 discount as indicated in the price list. AUDI A6 SALOON JUNE 2004- & AVANT ESTATE MAY 2005- (MODELS WITH S-LINE BUMPER)
Audi have expanded their offering of S-Line bodykits to their A6 model. We can confirm that AD4279 is suitable for these vehicles with no changes to the installation proceedure.

TOYOTA HI ACE SWB/LWB VAN (FACELIFT) OCTOBER 2006-
As highlighted in the December Newsletter, the Toyota Hi Ace has received a facelift. The major revisions are confined to the front of the vehicle, with changes to the rear of the vehicle purely cosmetic. It can be confirmed that TY3504B remains suitable for this application.

VOLKSWAGEN TOURAN (FACELIFT) JANUARY 2007-
Volkswagen have introduced an updated Touran from late January, that amongst other upgrades has received a revised rear bumper. This updated model can be differentiated by the presence of reflectors in the outer corners of lower bumper edge (The earlier model had no reflectors in the rear bumper). Although VW4237 can be physically installed to the revised model it is required to make a alternate bumper cut. The dimensions of this are 55mm wide up to the change in section, and then 35mm wide x 25mm deep in the front face.
We are currently awaiting to view a vehicle for development of a revised towbar.

AUDI A6 'ALLROAD' ESTATE 06/06-
Audi introduced an all new model of their faux 4WD, the A6 Allroad in June this year. The vehicle now based on the current model A6 Avant Estate. We can confirm that the previous AD4180 (Flange Towball) and AD9107 (Detachable) are not suitable for this application, and we are currently ascertaining the feasibility of introducing a towbar for this model.

CHRYSLER / JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 05/05- ('STARTECH' BODYKIT / SRT-8)
Chrysler / Jeep have launched a selection of performance related variants of their popular Grand Cherokee model. The first of these is fitted with a bodykit (Branded ‘Startech’). It is believed CH4287 will fit, but as the bumper apron is deeper it will be required to slot this to fit around the towbar faceplate.

Secondly, the high performance Grand Cherokee is badged SRT-8 and is fitted with a 6.1V8 Hemi engine delivering 420bhp. The twin exhaust system fitted to this vehicle exits the rear of the vehicle centrally, and although the vehicle has a limited towing capacity, this prevents installation of CH4287.

FORD TRANSIT CONNECT / TOURNEO CONNECT (FACELIFT) 10/06-
Ford have subtly facelifted their Transit Connect Van and Tourneo Connect MPV for the 2007 model year. The changes are limited to a new front grille, bonnet, bumper and specification upgrades. As such we can confirm that FD4198 remains compatible.

IVECO DAILY VAN & CHASSIS CAB (FACELIFT) 10/06-
A significantly updated Daily has recently gone on sale and features new front end styling and a heavily revised interior. It is believed that the only revisions to the rear of the vehicle are cosmetic and concern the light clusters and badging. Although we are awaiting trial fitment of IV4137, IV4138 & IV4145 onto these new models, it is expected they will be suitable for their respective applications.

MERCEDES SPRINTER / VW CRAFTER SWB VAN (3250mm)(WITH REAR STEP) 05/06-
Mercedes & Volkswagen offer their new Sprinter & Crafter models with the option of a rear step/footboard. MR4314 was developed to be suitable for all MWB & LWB variants that have the step option. We can confirm that MR4314 is not suitable for SWB (3250mm wheelbase) models with the optional step due to the suspension mounts obstructing location of the towbar side arms (B).
It is currently recommended that should any customer have a request for this comparably rare model, the rear step and associated brackets are removed and a replacement centre bumper section is fitted. It is then possible to install MR4310 (Suitable for all SWB, MWB & LWB vans without step/footboard).

MITSUBISHI L200 4WD PICKUP (CREWCAB/EXTENDED CAB MODELS) 10/06-
A crew/extended cab variant of Mitsubishi’s popular L200 has recently gone on sale. This has 2 doors but 2 rows of seats. Due to the vehicle having an extended frame and body at the rear, the positioning of the towbar mountings has altered and MT4301 is not suitable. We are currently in the early stages of developing a towbar for this model.
MT4301 remains suitable for all single and double cab models regardless if fitted with no bumper (4-Work & 4-Life), Plastic Under-shield (Animal & Elegance) or Chrome tube bumper (Warrior).

PEUGEOT 307 HATCHBACK ('GT' MODEL) 2006-
The 307 has become available with a new 2.0HDi diesel engine with a power output of 136bhp. This unit is only fitted to the ‘GT’ model. The exhaust features a larger rear silencer with an additional hanger to the underside of the left hand chassis member (Similar to 2.0 16v 180bhp variants). As such PG4183 is not suitable.

RANGE ROVER (2007 MODEL YEAR WITH 3.6TDV8 ENGINE) 11/06-
The Range Rover has received upgrades for the 2007 model year, the most significant being the adoption of a new Ford group 3.6TDV8 common rail diesel engine, together with subtle styling changes externally and internally. The exhaust system remains identical to the new system implemented with the 2006 upgrades and as such we can confirm RV4216A will remain suitable.

TOYOTA HI ACE VAN (FACELIFT) 10/06-
The evergreen Hi Ace has been given another revision, this time adopting a new front end. Although we are currently awaiting trial fitment of TY3504B onto the new model, it is believed no changes have been made to the rear of the vehicle, other than a cosmetic upgrade on lights and badging.

VAUXHALL MOVANO / RENAULT MASTER / NISSAN INTERSTAR (FACELIFT) 11/06-
The larger Movano / Master / Interstar has benefited from a subtle facelift. The changes are primarily concerned with the adoption of Euro-4 compliant engines, a revised front grill and general specification upgrades. No changes appear to have been made to the rear of the vehicle and as such RN4121 continues to be suitable.

FORD RANGER 4WD 'TIPPER' PICKUP JANUARY 2006- (FD7170)
When using the vehicle's Tipper body, it is imperative to always ensure sufficient clearance is provided between the drop down tailboard and the coupling during all stages of raising the body. It is recommended to install guides to prevent the tailboard from jamming on the towbar coupling. Failure to do so may result in the tailboard being crushed, possibly causing significant damage to the body and vehicle chassis. Please refer to information provided in the tipper conversion operator’s manual.

VAUXHALL/OPEL ASTRA VAN (NEW MODEL) OCTOBER 2006-
An all-new version of Vauxhall's Astra Van has recently gone on sale. This shares the chassis and body structure of the Vauxhall Astra H Estate and as such we can confirm that GM4240 (Flange) and GM9214 (Detachable) are suitable for this new model.

VAUXHALL/OPEL VIVARO VAN (FACELIFT) OCTOBER 2006-
RENAULT TRAFIC VAN (FACELIFT) OCTOBER 2006-
Vauxhall and Renault have recently refreshed their respective Vivaro & Trafic van ranges for the 2007 model year, with new Euro-4 compliant engines and updated styling. Revised bumpers are fitted to the vehicles which prevent simple installation of RN4194 (Although it will fit with either a bumper cut or bumper displacement). We are currently in the process of evaluating a vehicle with regard to a revised towbar.
There is currently no information regarding the Nissan Primastar (The Vivaro & Trafic's sister vehicle), although this vehicle is likely to benefit from the update at some point in the near future.

FORD RANGER 2WD PICKUP (NEW MODEL) SEPTEMBER 2006-
It can be confirmed that FD4106 is suitable for the 2007 model year Ford Ranger 2WD from September 2006. Installation remains the same as early models with the exception that the fixing positions have adopted M12 1.75 pitch nuts (As opposed to the earlier 1.5 pitch). Future batches will have these additional parts packed.

KIA SEDONA/CARNIVAL (NEW MODEL) 07/06-
An all-new version of Kia's large people carrier went on sale in July badged as Sedona in the UK and Carnival in other European markets. The vehicle is based on an all new platform and as such we can confirm that KA7059 (Fixed flange towball) and KA9109 (Detachable neck towbar) are not suitable. A new design of towbar (KA4319) is in development and will become available in due course.

SUZUKI GRAND VITARA 3DR SEPTEMBER 2005- (SZ4281)
Suzuki's new Grand Vitara went on sale last September in 3 Door SWB and 5 Door LWB variations. SZ4281 was developed to be suitable for both bodystyles despite differences in some of the mounting positions, and offered alternate mounting configurations for each model. It has become apparent that in 3 door SWB form there is often a subtle difference in the dimensions between the mounting points and variation in exhaust hanger location.
A subtly modified towbar will be available shortly (From batch code 32801) which will offer additional tolerance, increased exhaust hanger clearance, and be suitable for both 3 and 5 door models.

RENAULT CLIO CAMPUS & CAMPUS SPORT OCTOBER 2006-
Renault have mildly updated their Clio Campus & Campus sport models for 2007. This has involved a change to the rear bumper and the relocation of the registration plate from the tailgate to a recess in the rear bumper skin (Similar to the newer Clio III). The vehicles have just starting arriving with dealers and we are currently ascertaining if RN4042 continues to be suitable.

SUZUKI VITARA V6 & TURBO DIESEL (SZ4103)
There appears to be a certain amount of vehicle to vehicle variation on Suzuki's first generation Vitara. This is especially apparent on the ‘wide chassis’ V6 and Turbo Diesel models where variance occurs in the location of the welded towing eye on the offside chassis rail, and the weld bead on the nearside chassis rail. We have taken the opportunity to make a small modification to the mounting plates of SZ4103 to give additional tolerance on these problem vehicles.

VOLKSWAGEN CADDY VAN (SEPTEMBER 2006-) - VW4249
There appears to have been a recent change to the mounting points on the Volkswagen Caddy Van. The positions where the steel bumper impact beam attaches to the vehicle's rear panel, and that are used to mount the towbar, have changed from M12 threaded studs to M8 threaded studs. Volkswagen are not specifying any change to the location of the mounting points and VW4249 continues to be suitable. If VW4249 is fitted to the updated model it will be required to use M8 flat washers over the larger holes in towbar (A). Future batches will have these parts included.

VOLVO S40 SALOON / V50 ESTATE (SPORT MODELS) – VL4250
The ‘Sport’ & ‘Sport SE’ models in the S40 and V50 ranges are fitted with a subtly different bumper skin with a deeper skirt and an ‘aerodynamic fin’. To install the VL4250 towbar to these models it is required to either cut a section from the fin 55mm wide to allow the neck to emerge, or if desired remove the central section of the fin in its entirety. A similar bumper cut would be required when fitting the detachable option (VL9311).

VAUXHALL/OPEL ASTRA VAN (NEW MODEL) 09/06-
Vauxhall have launched an all-new Astravan which is expected to start arriving with Vauxhall dealers within the next few days. The vehicle utilises the same floorpan / body structure as the current model Astra Estate which was launched in November 2004. Although a trial fit is required to confirm, we have high expectations that GM4240 will be suitable. GM4038 is the correct application for Astravan up to September 2006.

KIA SORENTO (FACELIFT - 2007 MODEL YEAR) 08/06-
An updated Kia Sorento was launched at the end of August to coincide with the change to '56 plate' registrations. The vehicle is fitted with redesigned bumpers which are deeper and more bulbous, in addition to an increase of the maximum towing capacity from 2800kg to 3500kg on certain models. KA4217 is not suitable for the updated model due to these changes and we are currently awaiting a vehicle for assessment.

CITROEN RELAY / FIAT DUCATO / PEUGEOT BOXER (NEW MODEL) 09/06-
A new range of large vans and chassis cabs have been launched by the PSA (Peugeot-Citroen) group of France and Fiat of Italy as part of their "Sevel" agreement. The vehicles are expected to start arriving with dealers this week and replace the previous generation Relay-Ducato-Boxer range. Vans and Chassis Cabs/Pickups will be available with a variety of body configurations. Initial information suggests that PG4152 is not suitable due to a new arrangement with the towbar mounting positions. We are currently awaiting vehicles for assessment.

VAUXHALL/OPEL CORSA 3/5 DOOR HATCHBACK (NEW MODEL) 09/06-
An all new Corsa is now on sale with delivery to customers expected to begin towards the end of September. The vehicle has been developed in conjunction with the Fiat group and shares its floorpan and drivetrain with their new Grande Punto model. The existing GM4164 is not suitable and we are currently awaiting a vehicle for assessment.

FORD RANGER PICKUP (2007 MODEL YEAR) 09/06-
A heavily revised Ford Ranger has begun to arrive with dealers this week, and features revised front and rear body styling, new suspension arrangement and an increased towing capacity (Up to 3000kg from 2800kg on 4WD Variants). The revised suspension prevents installation of FD3545 on 4WD Variants due to a relocated spring hanger bracket on the base of the chassis rail (Although Ford are specifying no change to the mounting point locations). A revised towbar is in the early stages of development and will be available in due course.

We are currently awaiting to check installation of FD4106 on a 2WD model, however we expect this to be similar to the 4WD.

Mazda are to launch their version of this vehicle during October. This will be badged BT-50 and replace the B2500 in their range. It is expected that the same towbar for the Ranger will also be suitable for the BT-50.

BMW 3 SERIES COUPE (E92) 09/06-
A new 3 Series Coupe is due for launch this month, and shares its floorpan with the latest model 3 Series Saloon. The vehicle can be distinguished by its model code (E92). The existing towbars (BM4088 Flange & BM9235 Detachable) are not suitable. We have high expectations that the towbars used for the 3 Series Saloon & Touring models will be suitable, although this is unconfirmed at the present time.

VOLVO XC90 (2007 MODEL YEAR) 07/06-
Volvo have subtly facelifted their XC90 model range for the 2007 model year. The vehicles are fitted with a revised rear bumper (with a large mock-effect silver trim panel on its lower edge), however we can confirm that both the flange towbar (VL4254) and detachable (VL9310) are suitable.

MT9343 - MITSUBISHI L200 PICKUP 03/06- (FULLY AUTOMATIC HORIZONTAL DETACHABLE)
The MT9343 is a bespoke detachable towbar for the new Mitsubishi L200 Pickup. Dependent on model/trim, the vehicle is supplied either with no rear bumper, chrome tube bumper (Warrior) or plastic shroud (Animal and Elegance). We can confirm that MT9343 is not suitable for those models with the plastic shroud (Animal/Elegance). The PCT fixed towbar (MT4301) is suitable for all single & double cab models regardless of bumper style/type.
